Awards for Good Works

Outstanding contributions by individuals and groups who study and promote British Columbia history are recognized through the annual presentation of awards or special certificates.

Historical Writing

Each year, the British Columbia Historical Federation invites submissions for its Annual Historical Writing Competition to authors of British Columbia history; and the winning author is awarded the Lieutenant-Governor’s Medal for Historical Writing.

Best Article

Each year, the British Columbia Historical Federation offers the Anne and Philip Yandle Best Article Award, a certificate and cash prize, to the author of an article published in British Columbia History that best enhances knowledge of the history of British Columbia and provides enjoyable reading.

Recognition

Each year, the British Columbia Historical Federation recognizes outstanding contributions by individuals and groups to the study and promotion of British Columbia history through the Recognition Awards.

Website Award

Each year, the British Columbia Historical Federation offers an award for the best website about BC history.
