Digitization at the BC Archives continues

Last week, Chek TV reported on the ongoing work the BC Archives is doing to preserve and make accessible the province’s documented history.

A video featured on Chek TV website features one of the Museum’s on-going digitization projects — B.C.’s trapline maps. The maps date from 1909 to the late 60’s, and outline areas registered to licensed trappers.

Digitization will ensure the maps can be more easily accessed by the public. There are hundreds trapline maps to be digitized.

The B.C. Archives provides access for both government and public researchers to records documenting the history of this province.
