Funding opportunities for heritage organizations

Many of our members who operate museums and cultural centres will know that with fall comes grant writing season. The following granting agencies are accepting applications:

BC Arts Council

The Accelerate Pilot Program is a two-year initiative to improve access and reduce barriers to funding for equity deserving and regional arts and culture organizations and collectives. Funding is intended to offer stability while being flexible in supporting a range of expenses related to general operating costs; organizational development; capacity building. Funds can also be used for project expenses related to artistic growth, development, production, exhibition, dissemination, and sector support.

The maximum funding is $30,000 per year for two years.

Deadline is NOVEMBER 15.

Museums Assistance Program

The Department of Canadian Heritage’s Museums Assistance Program (MAP) is receiving its next intake for projects starting in the 2023-24 fiscal year under the Collections Management, Access to Heritage, and Indigenous Heritage components.

Heritage organizations must have a full time staff member, but open to the public year-round, have policies for museum operations, and manage a heritage collection. Read the full guidelines and apply on the MAP website.
