Moyie, c1901. The St. Eugene Consolidated Mining Company operated one of the largest silver-lead mines in Canada. To insure a reliable source of ore for the Trail smelter, the St. Eugene was amalgamated with a number of other Kootenay mining companies to form The Consolidated Mining & Smelting Company of Canada Ltd. (1906), later Cominco (1966), then Teck Cominco (2001) and in 2008, Teck Resources Ltd. Private Collection.

The British Columbia Historical Federation
is an umbrella organization embracing a variety of membership classes.
• Member Societies: Local and regional historical societies with objectives consistent
with those of the Federation. All dues paying members of the local or regional society
shall be ipso facto members of the Federation.
• Affiliated Members: Groups, organizations and institutions without dues paying members
with specialized interests or objectives of a historical nature.
• Associate Members: Individuals may become members of the Federation.
• Corporate Members: Companies are entitled to become members of the Federation.
Annual Membership Dues
• Member Societies: one dollar per member with a minimum membership fee of $30 and
a maximum of $75, including a subscription to the Federation’s journal and newsletter;
• Affiliated Members: $35, receives the Federation’s journal and newsletter;
• Corporate Members: $100, receives the Federation’s journal and newsletter;
• Associate Members: $35, receives the Federation’s journal and newsletter.
At present, "Pay Now" is only available to Associate Members.

• Member's name, description and contact information published in annual
Members' Directory;
• Opportunity to promote your site and events with other BCHF members;
• Membership includes four issues of British Columbia History and BCHF Newsletter;
