Publications

The British Columbia Historical Federation has three publications: two print and this website. Its quarterly journal, British Columbia History, is dedicated solely to the history of the province of British Columbia.

The British Columbia Historical News first appeared in Spring 1968. Early issues included news from member societies and of local historical interest as well as a feature article. As the journal matured it published fewer news items and more feature articles, so to reflect this change the title was revised to British Columbia History in 2005. In order to provide timely information to member societies the British Columbia Historical Federation Newsletter has been issued since June 2003.

The British Columbia Historical Federation launched its first website, hosted by Selkirk College, in 1998. It was completely overhauled in March 2007 and the Kootenay Internet Communications Society (KICS) is now the Federation's website host.

A summary of the Publications Committee SURVEY conducted in 2010 includes all aspects of BC Historical Federation publications: the magazine, newsletter, website and special projects.

The Federation is also mandated "to publish historical sketches, studies and documents." BCHF publications as well as publications by and from member societies are listed in the Book Store. Further information and/or pdf files are available from:
