Rosa Flinton-Brown, who is the BCHF’s treasurer, has agreed to wear another hat, taking on the role of first vice president. The position has been vacant since Caroline Ross left the board.
Agreeing to do so puts Rosa in line to become the BCHF’s president in 2022, for which we owe her a huge thanks in advance!
However, it also means that we will need to find a new treasurer beginning next year. Rosa has done an outstanding job as our number cruncher, helping us understand our financial position and giving us wise counsel on achieving our goals as an organization while keeping our bank balance in the black.
Rosa is a CPA (CA) who received her accounting designation in 1993 with Deloitte & Touche in Vancouver. She specialized in business valuation and worked in corporate finance until leaving public practice in 2000.
Since then she has created curriculum, taught professional development courses, and learned about participatory decision making and capacity building in not-for-profit environments. Through her experiences leading, supporting, and advising community organizations, Rosa has developed a passion for grassroots initiative that lead to new vision and energy.
