Second edition of Sinixt history book released

A revised and expanded edition of a classic work about the alienation of the Sinixt First Nation from their traditional territory in the West Kootenay has been released. A lot has happened in the 20 years since Eileen Delehanty Pearkes first wrote The Geography of Memory, including the Supreme Court recognizing the Sinixt have a constitutional right to hunt in their traditional territory despite being declared “extinct” in Canada in 1956.
