Each year, the BCHF offers a certificate and cash prize of $250 for published news and media resources by members, which includes newsletters, blogs, social media campaigns, print media campaigns, videos and podcasts.
This year’s recipient of the award is the Silvery Slocan Historical Society (New Denver) for the Summer 2018 newsletter, which is an informative quarterly publication featuring the activities of the historical society. The newsletter recognizes the work of volunteers and community members in preserving and commemorating the area’s local history.
The prize was awarded on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at the book awards gala event in Courtenay as part of the BCHF annual conference.
