British Columbia History editor Andrea Lister attended an all-candidates’ meeting for the riding of Maple Ridge-Mission on April 27, 2017.

“I submitted [the BCHF outreach] questions but they were not asked. In retrospect, as the Chamber of Commerce was the host, I wonder if the question should have been framed around historic tourism as an economic driver and providing jobs.

“The candidates were asked about their support for Arts & Culture. Peter Tam said that the Greens supported new economies. Marc Dalton claimed that the Liberals have increased funding through the gaming grants. Bob D’Eith said they would double the investment in the BC Arts Council and support arts infrastructure and Creative BC.”
