Help us give history a voice during the 2018 Local Government Elections
The 2018 local government elections are set for October 20, and the BCHF believes that support for the history of our unique and diverse province is an election issue.
We invite our members to join us in our Step Up for History election outreach campaign, which was first launched in April 2017 ahead of the provincial election. The campaign is intended to get voters and politicians talking about the importance of history to local communities, and to celebrate and support the work of our not-for-profit historical community.
How you can help:
To help us “step up” and make provincial history an election issue, we’re asking you to:
- Attend an all-candidates’ meeting in your community.
- Ask the candidates one or more questions from our official campaign outreach brief (PDF).
- Record the candidates’ responses and/or take photos.
- Share the results through social media, print media, our Campaign News & Results web page and more.
Find full campaign details on our Step Up for History web site.
Together, let’s “step up” and make history a conspicuous part of the pre-election debate.
We thank you in advance for your support and participation.
