Outstanding contributions by individuals and groups who study and promote British Columbia history are recognized through the annual presentation of awards or special certificates.
Each year, the British Columbia Historical Federation invites submissions for its Annual Historical Writing Competition
to authors of British Columbia history; and the winning author is awarded the Lieutenant-Governor’s Medal for Historical Writing.
Each year, the British Columbia Historical Federation offers the Anne and Philip Yandle Best Article Award
, a certificate and cash prize, to the author of an article published in British Columbia History
that best enhances knowledge of the history of British Columbia and provides enjoyable reading.
Each year, the British Columbia Historical Federation recognizes outstanding contributions by individuals and groups to the study and promotion of British Columbia history through the Recognition Awards
Students registered at a post secondary institution in BC can enter an essay about a BC historical topic for a chance to win one of two scholarships.
