In Memoriam: Shawn Lamb 1938-2021

Shawn Lamb is seen examining the contents of a century-old time capsule at Nelson’s Central School in 2009.

We’re sad to report the passing on Wednesday of longtime Nelson museum curator and archivist Shawn Lamb. Lamb worked at the museum from 1984 to 2010, first at the old location Anderson Street, and then at the present Touchstones Nelson, where the archives were named after her in 2006.

Touchstones posted on their Facebook site: “It is with heavy hearts that the staff and board of directors at Touchstones Nelson: Museum of Art and History acknowledge the passing of former archivist, dear friend, and heart of the museum, Shawn Lamb.

“Shawn has contributed an immense amount to the preservation of our community’s history. Today, we are remembering her incredible life in photographs, and her legacy will live on in the Shawn Lamb Archives.”
