New Vancouver Archives holdings in the public domain

On January 1, 2018, copyright on several City of Vancouver Archives holdings expired. These digital materials, including the sampling listed below, are now in the public domain and may be legally re-used for any purpose.

  • Trading Post, a 1967 program from CHAN-CHEK TV, in which people phoned the program host with items for barter or sale.
  • Images of artwork by Mildred Valley Thornton, a professional artist, Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and long-time art critic for the Vancouver Sun.
  • A multi-sheet sectional plan of the City of Vancouver, created by the City in 1912 and revised in 1942.
  • A Place to Be, a short documentary from 1967 about Grouse Mountain.
