Parks Canada recruiting for Indigenous Cultural Heritage Advisory Council

Parks Canada is launching the recruitment process for a new Indigenous Cultural Heritage Advisory Council.

The Council will influence the future of policy, programs and initiatives related to history and heritage, designations and commemorations, archaeology, collections and repatriation and the management of cultural resources. If you are interested in influencing the future of Parks Canada’s cultural heritage policies and programs, then they want to hear from you.

They are seeking six to eight First Nations, Métis or Inuit individuals to form this new council. Members will be asked to attend two to three two-day face-to-face meetings and three to five half-day conference calls a year. Council members will be appointed for an initial two year period.

Additional information about the council and the application process can be found at https://www.pc.gc.ca/en/culture/autochtones-indigenous/conseil-council. The application deadline is Aug. 23.
