Sarah Ling

Sarah lives and works on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil- Waututh) Nations in Vancouver.

Sarah joined BCHF as a Director in 2024. She holds a BA in English Literature with a minor in First Nations and Indigenous Studies, and an MA in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of British Columbia with a community-centered research background in Chinese and Indigenous relations.

Born and raised in Prince Rupert, BC with ancestral ties to Toisan, China and Hong Kong, she is passionate about fostering intercultural connections across the province. As a documentary filmmaker she has produced several award-winning films.

Sarah served as the inaugural staff member of the Chinese Canadian Museum from July 2020 when it was first established in Vancouver Chinatown, until Dec 2025. She co-curated and managed several of the museum's inaugural exhibitions. She is the co-founder of Chinatown Wonders and Past-President of the Chinese Canadian Historical Society of BC.
