Elwin has worked casually at the Burnaby Village Museum for the last fifteen years as museum interpreter and since July 2023, he has added the Chinese Canadian Museum to his mix of museum interpretation. 

For the Vancouver Historical Society, Elwin has uploaded monthly history talks to the organization’s YouTube channel for the last seven years.

He can also be found offering his technical support with the West Vancouver Historical Society, the Chinatown Storytelling Centre, the Dr. Sun Yat Sen Classical Chinese Garden, and of course to the BCHF.
